Vincent M. “Vinny” Boyd

Vincent M. “Vinny” Boyd, 82, of Route 394, Kennedy, passed away, Tuesday (Oct. 13, 2020) at home.

He was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Kennedy, the son of the late Marion C. and Lillian T. (Cobb) Boyd.

Vinny was a 1956 graduate of Falconer Central School and retired in 2002 from the former Falconer Plate Glass after 45 years of service, where he served as shipping clerk.

He was a member of the Kennedy United Methodist Church and Cardinal Hills Golf Course, where he played in the Barton Tool League for over 40 years, the Wednesday night Members League and the Monday morning league. He additionally was a member of the Chautauqua County Corvette Club.

His interests included golfing, spending time with family and friends, and coin collecting.

Vinny is survived by two sons: Steven Boyd and wife, Jane of Erie, Pa., and Christopher “Chris” Boyd and wife, Cheryl of Ray City, Ga.; five grandchildren: Eric Boyd, Leann (Troy) Conquer, Ashley (Yenquis) Nolasko, Sara (Matt) Wilson and Aaron Boyd; as well as three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Jane Rich Boyd; a sister; Shirley Wakefield; and a brother, Melvin Boyd.

As per Vinny’s wishes, visitation will not be held. A graveside service will be announced at a later date by the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph, and will be held in the Myrtle Cemetery, Clark’s Corners in Kennedy, N.Y. The Rev. Jennifer Delahoy will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in his name be made to the Clarence Barton Memorial Golf League at Cardinal Hill in Randolph or to the American Cancer Society.
