SallyLou A. Otander

A lifelong area resident, she was born March 26, 1932, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gustaf S. and Myrtle Nelson Anderson.

Sally was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Fredo-nia State College. In earlier years, she was employed by the former Bigelow’s Department Store and served as the director of the RSVP Program.

She was a member of the Thule Lodge, Foster Grandparents Program, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown and Christ The King Church in Sebastian, Fla. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.

Surviving are three children: Christine (Martin) Schroeder, David (Elizabeth) Otander and Susan (John) Eckholm; eight grandchildren: Kelli (Jeffrey) Zentz, Matt (Charlotte) Lamer, Jennifer Lamer, Timothy (Christine) Schroeder, John (Elsa) Otander, Robert Otander, Lyndsey (Matthew) Fuller and Christopher Eckholm; ten great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Heather and Dillon Kelly, Nicholas and Nathaniel Lamer, Carton Young, John Jr., Chase and Makayla Fuller and Silas Schroeder; four great-great- grandchildren: Fiona and Arlo Otander, Adam and Abbi Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Otander, whom she married Feb, 18, 1951, who died Oct, 17, 2013; and a son, Steven J. Otander on June 20, 1959.

A private funeral service will be held in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Visitation will not be observed.
