Randall E. “Randy” Gibson

Randall E. “Randy” Gib-son of Gerry, N.Y., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday (Oct. 10, 2020) at the age of 67. After several months of declining health, Randy died peacefully with his beloved wife of 38 years, Gail (Graham) Gibson and his two children by his side at UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born July 28, 1953, in Meadville City Hospital to parents Wilber-ta and the late Theodore B. Gibson. Randy attended Union Area schools and graduated from Conneaut Valley High School in 1971. He attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, Butler Community College and graduated from Slip-pery Rock College with a Bachelor of Science in so-cial studies education in 1976. Randy attended the Ross Mills Church of God.

Randy had many jobs over the years that included Perkins, Flickingers, Sysco, US Foods, and finally a trainer at Country Fair from which he retired in 2020. In his free time, he was a hobby farmer, a youth soccer coach which includ-ed not only his children’s teams but his grandchildren as well. He also served on the CVCS school board where he said his greatest accomplishment was being able to hand both of his children their high school diplomas. He also served in the Gerry Volunteer Fire Department and Gerry Rodeo both for many years. Randy enjoyed many, many things. Among these things were football, golfing, westerns, dragon books, holidays especially Christ-mas, farming and above all his family.

Randy was a dedicated son, brother, husband, fa-ther, uncle and grandfather first and foremost. He treas-ured his family and em-braced every moment with them. He especially loved his role as “Grand Pa.” He had a vivacious personality and always made people around him laugh. He made friends everywhere he went and his coworkers at Coun-try Fair loved him as well. His extended family over the years has grown in leaps and bounds and he loved them all.

He is survived by his wife, Gail (Graham) Gibson whom he married May 1, 1982. His daughter, Jen-nifer (Casey) Eaker of Ger-ry and their children: Faith, Brandon, Love, Alexander, and Hope. His son, Jonathon (Autumn) Gibson of Gerry and their children: Landon, Aiden, Cameron, and Colton. His mother Wilberta (Amy) Gibson of Conneautville, Pa. His sis-ter, Bonnita (William) Champion of Summerville Pa; and many nieces and nephews. He is also sur-vived by his faithful dog, Mojo.

He was preceded in death his grandparents, Paul and Grace Gibson and Willard and Leda Amy; his father, Theodore B. Gibson; his aunt, Juanne Gibson; and his canine companion, Miss Molly, with whom he had a special connection.

His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday (Oct/ 13, 2020) in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. David Olson, pastor of the Ross Mills Church of God will officiate. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Gerry, N.Y. Due to CDC and NYS Covid 19 restrictions Face Masks are required.

Friends will be received by the family Tuesday noon to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
