Lyle E. Babcock

He was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Genesee, N.Y., the son of Earl and Emily Barber Babcock.

Lyle met his bride, Iris, while serving in the US Army in England during World War ll.

Prior to retirement in 1985, he had worked in production control at MRC Bearings.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing woodworking.

Lyle is survived by two sons: Wayne (Marcia) Babcock of Frewsburg, and Keith Babcock of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Misty Babcock, Amber (Marcus) Promber, Jamie Pacanowski (Todd) and Shawn (Hillary) Babcock; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Clark.

He was predeceased by his wife, Iris, whom he married in Winchester, England in 1945; a sister, Emogene Saulsgiver; and four brothers: Stuart, Paul, Gerald and Harry Babcock.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Mel McGinnis, pastor of Kiantone Congregational Church will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral Home. Masks are required.
