Ludiena “Lou” Frances Anzideo Constantino

Ludiena “Lou” Frances Anzideo Constantino, 98, of 30 Auburn Ave., Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, in her home.

A lifelong area resident, she was born May 15, 1922, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Thomas and Cecelia Daversa Anzideo.

Lou was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was a member of the Glee Club during her years at Washington Junior High School.

Before her retirement years, she was employed by the former Sears Roebuck Store for 24 years, retiring in 1984. She had also worked for Penny’s and the former Valone Cleaners.

She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Paris at St. John Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, Celoron, and the James-town Chapter 334 of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Ludiena “Lou” will be remembered by all those that knew her for her kind loving heart and as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and aunt, as well as for her positive attitude and willingness to help every-one. She was a remarkably strong woman who per-severed and showed strength of character that we can only try to duplicate in our own lives. She loved entertaining and was a perfect hostess. She loved spending as much time as possible with her family and friends. She enjoyed baking, especially cupcakes, and shared her baked goods with everyone. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting items that she gave to her family and friends. She loved visiting her daughter and son-in-law in Rochester and then in Florida participating in yoga, walking the beach, sitting by the pool and hours of shopping. She made many friends in Jamestown, Rochester and Florida, that she kept in touch with regularly. She also loved visiting her grandsons and family in Florida. She will be sorely missed, loved and remembered forever for her beautiful smile, generous spirit, unquestionable love, remarkable thoughtfulness and the kind selfless way in which she lived.

Surviving are a twin daughter, Carolyn (James) Constantino McDonald of Bradenton, Fla.; a son, Anthony Charles (Rosanne) Constantino of Jamestown, N.Y.; a son-in-law, Charles Hausfeld of Hollywood, Fla.; four grandchildren: Amy Constantino of James-town, Brian (Kara) Hausfeld of Cooper City, Fla., Mark (Dena) Hausfeld of Sunrise, Fla., Andy (Chelsea) Constantino of James-town; five great-grandchildren; Hailey Rose and Tyler Preston Hausfeld of Cooper City, Fla., Jackson A. Constantino, Austin M. Constantino and Sebastian A. Constantino. all of Jamestown; a sister-in-law, Irene Constantino of Gerry, N.Y.; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grandnephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Constantino, whom she married June 28, 1947, and who died Feb. 7, 1999; a twin daughter, Rosalyn Constantino Hausfeld, who died May 20, 1980; a grand-daughter, Lori Constantino, who died Feb, 1, 1986; and infant brother, Anthony Anzideo; two sisters: Ida Lodico and Carrie R. Calalesina; as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Lou’s family wishes to extend their unending gratitude and special thanks and appreciation to Gerald and Beverly White and Peggy Tanner for all their help over the years. Also, a special thank you and appreci-ation to her aides: Michelle Rasmussen, Nicole Garland, Amy Eberbach and Emily Sanchez, and to the wonderful Hospice team that took such loving care of her.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
