Donna Lou Evans

Donna Lou Evans, 57, of Parker Hill Road, Randolph, passed away, Tuesday (Sept. 8, 2020) at Olean General Hospital.

She was born July 25, 1963 in Auburn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Donald L. Evans and M. Sheila McMahon Evans.

Donna was a 1981 graduate of Randolph Central School, received her associates in Criminal Justice from Jamestown Community College where she played softball and volleyball. She then went on to receive her Bachelors from SUNY at Brockport, where she excelled in Softball and also played Rugby.

She was employed for the past several decades by Living Resources, Inc. in Yorktown Heights where she served as a Direct Support Professional for the Developmentally Disabled. Earlier on she worked for her stepfather Douglas Frink at Metallic Ladder Corporation in Randolph, N.Y.

Donna had many interests, but none more than her love of animals (her late dog Jesse) and her family. Sports were a big part of her life, Donna loved the New York Yankees (yep Skud and Casey, the YANKEES) the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, and her beloved Syracuse Orangeman. She also enjoyed golfing and she had played recreational softball for many years for Mr. B’s in Jamestown.

Donna had recently moved back into the area due to her health and was lovingly cared for by her brother Mark Evans and wife Tammy in their home in Randolph and her brother Michael P. (Denise) Evans of Randolph. She is additionally survived by two sisters; Kathleen (Rich) Leahy of Clovis, CA, and Ellen Evans (Mike Routhier) of Bristol, CT. and step siblings, Kirk (Elise) Frink, Kim (Heather) Frink, Kris (Shanen) Frink, Cindy (Doug) Johnson, Susan (Arnold) England and many dear cousins, and close friends.

Donna’s greatest joy was her nieces and nephews, Ryan and Adam Leahy, Alexandra Evans-Waclawski, Carlye Evans, Makenzie Evans, Matthew Evans, Marcus Evans and Kristina Lewis, one great niece, Annin Leahy and two great nephews, Toryn Leahy and Wells Waclawski, her Stepfather Douglas Frink and wife Jane of Dunkirk, NY and Arcadia, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Heath Zawatski.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday (September 18, 2020) from 3-7 PM from the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
