Harry Wayne Wakefield

A lifelong area resident, he was born Aug. 8, 1944, in Jamestown, the son of the late Richard L. and Iva Belle Foulk Wakefield.

Harry attended Falconer High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy from 1965-70 aboard the USS Enterprise. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Cummins Engine retiring in 2007.

He was a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Herman Kent Post 777, American Legion and the LLMA Club.

Surviving are his companion, Frances E. Engstrom; a daughter, Stacy (Harry) Ivaire of Colorado; a son, Steven (Jenelle) Wakefield of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren; a sister, Norma Jean Norris of Ashville; and a brother, Richard “Dick” (Barbara) Wakefield of Lawrenceburg, Ky.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Wayne Wake-field.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Kennedy Riverside Cemetery.
