Judith A. Hagberg

Judith Ann “Judy” Hagberg, 73, of 2123 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, N.Y., passed away at 12:37 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020, in her home following a brief illness.

A lifelong area resident, she was born March 29, 1947, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late John and Mary L. Mathews Stebbins.

During her younger years she attended Panama Central School.

Before her retirement years, she was employed as a secretary at the Lutheran Home and in earlier years worked as a unit clerk at the former WCA Hospital.

She was a member of the Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary, the Fish Club, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved playing cards, bingo and traveling to the casino. The past couple of years she enjoyed visiting with her family and friends at the Fairway Pointe Apartments.

Surviving are her husband of 21 years, John C. Hagberg, whom she married June 13, 1998l her two children: Lisa (Lee) Burgard of Clymer, N.Y., and Skip (Rachael) Blair of Orchard Park, N.Y.; four grandchildren: Jacquie Blair of Jamestown, Benjamin Burgard of Clymer, Travis Blair and Ethan Blair both of Orchard Park; one great–granddaughter; Althea Hall of Jamestown; a brother, Bruce Stebbins of Panama; three stepsons: Kevin Hagberg of Ft. Mitchell, Ala., Keith Hagberg and Kenneth Hagberg both of Erie, Pa., and a stepgrandson, Joshua Darling of Jamestown.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brother, John “Jack” Stebbins Jr.

Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings caused by the coronavirus outbreak, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will not be observed. A private inurnment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville, N.Y.
