Robert A. Fiedler
Robert Allen Fiedler died Monday, April 6, at Heritage Green Nursing Home Greenhurst, following a long battle with glioblastoma. Once again, he fought the good fight.
He was born in Rochester, N.Y., in 1957, to John H. and Marjorie (Allen) Fiedler. He lived in Lakewood since childhood and attended Southwestern Central Schools. He graduated from Proctor Academy, Andover, N.H., in 1977. He also attended Colorado Mesa University.
He worked for many years as an estimator at Acoustawood Inc. in Brant, N.Y. He also was a landlord in Jamestown.
He is survived by four siblings: John H. Fiedler III of Sherman, Ann (Bob) Gammons of Holley, N.Y., Katherine Fiedler of Syracuse, and Susan Fiedler (Timothy Rudd) of Lakewood; a niece, Olivia Allen of Lakewood; two cousins: Alison (Dave) Jones of Amherst, N.Y., and Deborah (George) Stepniewski of Angola, N.Y.; and dear friend, Lancy Tracy of Jamestown.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Lakeside Memorial Park, Hamburg, N.Y. Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home, Hamburg, is coordinating arrangements.
His family would like express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Heritage Green Greenhurst for his extraordinary care, especially in these recent weeks Bob passionately loved Chautauqua Lake.
