Mark was a 1984 graduate of Southwestern Central School and was currently the owner of Mark LeRoy Construction of Ashville, N.Y.

Mark was born with a strong work ethic and was well known in the area for his building skills. As a young lad, he worked in the landscaping business with his maternal grandfather, Ken Owen. As a teenager, he worked at Davidson’s Restaurant. Following high school, he began to learn the building trade from his paternal uncle, Ray Dorman, whom he dearly loved. He began by helping his uncle build his nursing home in Florida. When a hurricane hit Georgia, his uncle, who was working for FEMA, hired Mark to transport and set up trailers. After returning to New York, Mark worked for Paul Fowler Development in Syracuse, N.Y. Returning to his hometown, he worked with Allen Blaisdell and David Pratt before forming his own construction company in 1997.

As an avid outdoorsman, Mark love to hunt using either his bow and arrow, shotgun, or rifle. He also loved fishing, camping, boating, riding his ATV, downhill skiing, and water skiing. Providing meat for his family all winter long was a source of pride for him. Cooking fish for family and friends, with the fish that he caught while ice fishing on Chautauqua Lake, gave him great pleasure. One of his favorite activities was his yearly trip to the Adirondacks where he backpacked for seven miles into the wilderness and met up with his uncles and cousins to commemorate his great-uncle, Harry Menz and his uncle Roger Owen.
