Sally A. Scolton

Sally A. Scolton, 86, of 649 Baker St., Ext. died Monday, March 23, 2020, in her home.

A native of Pittsburgh, she was born Feb. 20, 1934, the daughter of the late William and Kathryn Coleman Shaffer, JR.

Sally was an avid horseman until retirement and then became involved in the sport of purebred dogs. She was a breeder/ owner/handler of champion Brittanies and her beloved Toy Fox Terrier, Patton.

Sally was a lifetime member of the Conewango Valley Kennel Club. She volunteered with Chautauqua County 4-H Dog Program.

Special thanks to her granddaughter Andrea Davis-Karish for her loving care. Additional thank you to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care and her private sitters for their love and compassionate care.

Surviving are three children: Sue (Lester) Valyer and Peggy (Keith) Zionts, both of North Carolina and Bill (Jan) Henry of Georgia; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson, Emmett, who brought her great joy.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Scolton; and a granddaughter Danielle Henry.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Visitation will not be observed.
