Paul R. Briggs
Paul R. Briggs, 61, of Celoron, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 19, 2020 in his home.
A lifelong area resident, he was born in Westfield, N.Y., on Jan. 20, 1959.
While growing up, he attended school in Mayville, Panama and finally Jamestown High School.
A truck driver, Paul had worked for Cummins Engine, Regal Services and for the last 12 years by NACO Express.
He enjoyed automobile and motorcycle racing, both as a fan and as a participant. He had raced cars at Stateline and Eriez Speedways, and motorcycles at Thompson Raceway Park in Ohio.
Paul will be remembered as a wonderful father who loved his kids and family.
He is survived by a daughter, Shannon Forbes of Jamestown; a son, Paul Briggs of Ashville, N.Y.; granddaughter, Sheila Forbes of Falconer; and two great-grandsons: Mason and Kaleb. Also surviving is his mother, Shirley Leamer Badgley of Ashville; a sister, Deb Briggs Swanson of Kennedy; three brothers: Harlan Briggs of Ripley, and Joe Badgley and Terry Badgley, both of Ashville; and many nieces and nephews, as well as his former wife, Lori Parisi Briggs of Ashville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul L. Briggs; and two brothers: Fred Briggs and Mike Badgley.
Due to the current restrictions regarding social gatherings, a memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
