John A. Wendel
John A. Wendel, 79, of Covenant Manor, formerly of West Seneca and Busti, died Friday March 6, 2020, in his home.
A native of Buffalo, he was born Sept. 6, 1940, a son of the late Joseph and Grace Schollar Wendel.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Heidt Wendel of Jamestown; a daughter, Sheri (Richard) Shaw of West Seneca; along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Schreiber; and a brother, Bernard Wendel.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an engineer for several companies including Moog, Bell Aerospace, Chevy Tonawanda Plant, Adenlock, Bush Industries and Jamestown Precision.
He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and a past commander of Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg.
John will be remembered for his love of being on the water, fishing, boating and enjoying family and friends. He also had a love for dogs, whether they were his or not.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will not be observed.
