KENNEDY — Jeffrey P. Brown, 62, of Church Street, Kennedy, passed away Friday (March 27, 2020) peacefully in his own home in Kennedy.

He was born July 8, 1957, in Jamestown, the son of the late Rodney Ellis Brown and Virginia Wiltsie Brown.

Jeff was a 1975 graduate of Randolph Central School and was a foreign exchange student to Peru, where he visited Machu Picchu.

He last worked at Metallic Ladder in Randolph and for many years, had worked for his brother, Gary C. Brown at the former Randolph Inn and Cardinal Hills Golf Course as bar manager. He will be forever remembered for his ability to make people laugh with his incredible sense of humor, great joke and story-telling and his love of people.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, he was a huge baseball enthusiast and was a die hard New York Yankees fan, enjoyed golfing for many years, and had organized the former Cattaraugus County American Legion Golf tournament and the former Cajun Nut Golf Tournament at Cardinal Hills.

He is survived by his children: Amy (Justin) Brooks of Las Vegas, Lisa (Scott) Champlin of Randolph, Autumn (Brent) Harkness of Kennedy and Jake Brown. U.S. Army Ft. Irwin, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and his best friend, Emma Brown.

He is also survived by his siblings: Craig (Susan) Brown of Gowanda, Gary C. (Jodi) Brown of Randolph, Gregory Brown of Springville and Suzanne (Tom) Suhr of Webster, N.Y.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Wiltsie Brown, on Feb. 3, 1991; his father, Rodney Ellis Brown on Jan. 27, 2020; and a brother, James Brown.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced at that time by the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph.
