Ronald W. Wright

CATTARAUGUS, N.Y. — Ronald W. Wright, 69, of Springville, N.Y., passed away Thursday, Jan 16, 2020.

He was born on July 13, 1950, in Gowanda, N.Y., the son of the late Wilbur and Gertrude (Smith) Wright.

Mr. Wright was a lifelong truck driver, having owned and operated Wright Trucking for over 30 years. He also logged with Adams Hardwood as well as hauled milk.

Mr. Wright was an avid outdoorsman, being a member of the Cattaraugus Rod and Gun Club, the Maple Lodge and Spring Brook. He was also a social member of the Little Valley American Legion. He also enjoyed golfing, cooking, playing euchre and driving his tractor and Kubota.

Mr. Wright is survived by a loving fiancee, Sonya Gentner of Springville, N.Y.; a son, Jason (Melanie) Thompson of Otto, N.Y.; three daughters: Kerry (Kelly) McInereney of Mascott, Fla., Tracey (Mike) Erhart of Cattaraugus, N.Y., and Kailtyn Deidrich of Springville, N.Y. He is survived by a stepson, Shawn (Meghan) Gentner of East Otto, N.Y.; and stepdaughter, Autumn (Gary) Bunnell of Springville, N.Y. He is also survived by two brothers; James Wright and Wayne (Sherry) Wright, both of Cattaraugus, N.Y.; and two sisters: Jane (Phillip) Frentz of Cattaraugus, N.Y., and Joan Hale of Randolph, N.Y.; and by eight grandchildren; Samantha (Joe) Thompson, Jordan Walters, Colt Erhart, Clara Thompson, Aubree Gentner, Oaklee Gentner, Sawyer Gentner and Annabell Bunnell.

Besides his parents, Ron is predeceased by a brother, Paul Wright.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020 from 3-7 p.m. from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Valley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at 11 a.m. from the funeral home.

Burial will be in New Albion Lower Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
