Kristin Lynn Johnson

Kristin Lynn Johnson, 27, of Sneads Ferry, N.C., formerly of Warren, Pa., passed away Dec. 31, 2019, due to injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

She was born June 18, 1992, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of Craig and Donna Hawks Johnson of Youngsville.

Growing up she spent many years as a member of the Warren YMCA Powerhouse Gymnastics Team. Kristin graduated from Warren Area High School in 2011, where she excelled at tennis. She then attended Edinboro University for undergraduate and graduate studies. Kristin graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in speech and hearing sciences, and then went on to obtain her Master of Arts degree in speech language pathology at Edinboro University. After graduation, Kristin followed her heart to be near the ocean, moving to North Carolina, where she fulfilled her dream of being a pediatric speech language pathologist. Kristin touched the lives of all those she encountered and her students adored her. Kristin enjoyed taking her dog, Moose, on adventures, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. Kristin’s ability to relate to others around her and selflessness made her a true asset to the speech and language community and made her a great friend to many. She was also a member of the American Speech Language Association.

Even though there were miles between friends and family, Kristin’s ability to always be present was one to be admired. She had her special ways of reminding those closest to her how much they meant to her and how much she loved them. And even though she was so far away, everyone knew she would always receive constant love and affection from her four legged companion, Moose. If you have ever heard Kristin talk about Moose you just knew the bond they shared was more than just dog and owner, it was those of soul mates.

Kristin is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Milton Johnson, her maternal grandmother Janice Hawks; great-grandmothers: Katherine Kane and Marian Hawks; and her sister’s late fiance, Nikolai Briggs.
