Jane H. Maus

Jane H. Maus, 90, of Hamburg, N.Y., died Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.

She was born March 11, 1929, in Buffalo, the only child of Harry and Norma Harding of Kenmore, N.Y.

Jane moved with her family at the age of five to Sherman, N.Y., where she was raised and attended Sherman Central School, graduating in 1947.

Jane married LaVerne Maus of Jamestown, N.Y., on March 11, 1950, and they settled in Sherman where they raised their three children. Jane went to work for the Bank of Jamestown shortly after her marriage and retired from KeyBank in 1993.

Jane was a Girl Scout troop leader before having children of her own and she was a life long member of the Community Church of Sherman, N.Y., were she served as a member of the choir, was church secretary, and taught church Sunday school for several years.

Jane was a Red Cross volunteer and enjoyed playing piano and organ, reading and spending time with her grandchildren, making many trips to area zoo’s, museums and theatres with them.

In addition to her parents, Jane was proceeded in death by her husband Vern on Feb. 24, 1992: and life long friends too numerous to mention.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Cathleen Maus of Mayville, N.Y.; two sons: Daniel Maus and his wife, Cathy of Sherman, N.Y., and David Maus and his wife, Michele of Hamburg, N.Y. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her cat, Molly.

As per Jane’s whishes, the family will not be having funeral service.
