David Eugene Peck

David Eugene Peck, 80, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, Jan, 24, 2020, in UPMC Chautauqua.

He was born Jan. 18, 1940 in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of the late Clark Eugene and Olive Dawn Saladee Peck.

David was a 1958 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School in Bedford, Ind. In 1959, he started working for Cummins Engine in Columbus, Ind,, moving to Jamestown in 1976 to start the piston line which was the third line at the time in the Jamestown Plant. While in Jamestown, he took on various management roles in purchasing and engineering, retiring in 2000 after 41 years with the company.

He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. His annual pilgrimage to the hunting camp on Dutton Pond in Maine brought him great joy. He loved life to the fullest, whether spending time by his wife’s side or up in a tree stand, or teaching his children to hunt and fish, David truly cherished those moments. He was a lifetime member of the Jamestown Skeet Club, winning the Chautauqua County Skeet Shoot Championship in 1994. Through the skeet club, he forged many of his greatest lifetime friendships. His other memberships include the Masonic Lodge, Jamestown Rifle Club, Christian Bow Hunters Association and the North American Hunting Club.

David will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but will be forever remembered and cherished.

Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years, Angelica Salemme Peck; four sons: Russell (Sherry) Peck of Palm Coast, Fla., Aleksander David Peck (Jackie Gullotti) of Buffalo, N.Y., and Robert and Samuel Peck, both of Jamestown; three daughters: Tammie Gregory of Shelbyville, Ind. Tricia Peck of Jamestown and Ona Peck, U.S. Army, Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren: Jordan, Kenna, Brayson, Reyna, Ryan, and Randy; several great- grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; a brother, Ronnie (Sherry) Peck and a sister, Regina (Neil) Hayes. both of Bedford, Ind.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Jared Heaton, pastor of the Lakewood Baptist Church will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the funeral home, where a Masonic Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
