Ruth D. Peterson
Ruth D. Peterson, 91, of Greenhurst, formerly of 515 South Main Street, Jamestown, passed away Dec. 27, 2019, at Heritage Green. She was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Jamestown N.Y., the daughter of the Late Merle and Florence (Hendrickson) Garfield.
Ruth was a graduate of Jamestown High School class of 1946. She was married on May 22, 1948, at First Lutheran Church to the late Westley P. Peterson, who passed away Jan. 25, 1992. She worked for many years in several area medical and dental offices as support staff, including Richard Lisciandro MD, Mahesh Chander MD, and the late Bruce Martenson DDS.
Ruth is survived by her children: Fred (Charlene) Peterson of Jamestown, N.Y. and Kurt (Beverly) Peterson of Bemus Point, N.Y.; her grandchildren: Justin (Jessica) Peterson of Kennedy, N.Y., Eric (Jill) Peterson of Lakewood, N.Y., Amanda (Bryan) Aipolani of Warren, Pa., and Liz Peterson of Jamestown, N.Y.; her great- grandchildren: Mike, Collin, Jackson, Oliver, Allie, Braelyn, Aaron, Elianna, and Donavan.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Westley P. Peterson; her parents, Merle and Florence Garfield; and her sister, Helen Mason.
As per Ruth’s wishes visitation will not be observed.
Arrangements entrusted to Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation services.
Inurnment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society.
