Richard F. Bushnell
GOWANDA, N.Y. — Richard F. Bushnell, 92, of Gowanda, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at his home.
He was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Gowanda, N.Y., the son of he late Chester and Rosemond (Francis) Bushnell.
On July 18, 1948, he married the former Ruth Fox who survives.
Mr. Bushnell owned and operated Fox Motors in Gowanda, N.Y., starting there in 1946 and has been a dealer since 1960. He also was affiliated with GMAC for 50 years.
He was a member of the Gowanda United Methodist Church in Gowanda for his entire life, member of the Gowanda Moose, Slovenian Club and a lifetime member of the Gowanda Rifle Club. He also was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He and his wife also had a summer home at Chautauqua Lake.
Besides his loving wife of 71 years, he is survived by a daughter, Patti (Rusty) Pound of Gowanda, N.Y.; and a daughter-in-law, Kate Bushnell of Hamburg, N.Y.; and four grandchildren: Brian (Sara) Pound, Scott (Tracy) Pound, Daniel Bushnell and Karen (John) Bushnell-Willet; nine great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, William ‘Bill” Bushnell; a brother, William Bushnell; and a sister, Betty Walters.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 E. Main St., Gowanda, N.Y., on Saturday Dec. 28, 2019 from 11 a.m. – 1p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. James Rugg, officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Gowanda, N.Y.
