Anita Loretta Pierson Boughton

Anita Loretta Pierson Boughton fell asleep in death on Dec. 6, 2019, at home with family by her side.

She was born May 16, 1927, to Clyde and Ethel Hopkins Pierson, and the second oldest of five.

After graduation from Youngsville High School in 1945, she had thoughts of becoming a nurse. However, after she met her husband to be David, she decided to be a housewife and a stay at home mom to her future children and care for her family to her heart’s content.

David and Anita were married at her parents’ home in front of the fire place on Oct. 11, 1946. In time she gave birth to four children: Diane, Debra, David and Barbara. Later she became a grandmother to five: Michelle, Lee Jr., Tanya, Ronald and Brandon. And then a great-grandma to seven: Heather, Kayla, Mara, Joshua, Matthew, Lillie and Brayden.

Some of her enjoyments in life were family trips, watching the birds at the feeder, doing word puzzles and watching favorite TV programs, especially football.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David, daughter, Diane Sherman; brothers: Reid and Milton Pierson; and sister, Janet Smith. Her youngest brother, Neil survives her.

We, Anita’s family, wish to express our deep appreciation to Hospice and the girls: Karen, Kala and Rachel for their loving care.

We also want to thank Jerry and Sharon Berg for their neighborly deeds of kindness and Craig and Karie Johnson for the love they have shown our mother.

Per Anita’s request, there will be no visitation hours. The family will have a private ceremony at the grave site.
