Walter M. Donovan
Walter M. Donovan, 78, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., formerly of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday Sept. 4, 2019, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Ft. Myers, Fla.
He was born July 2, 1941, in Staten Island, N.Y., the son of the late Walter and Alice Donovan.
While living in Jamestown, Walter was an attorney for the trust department of Chase bank, partner in Spoto, Spoto, Donovan, and Slater, and later had his own practice. After moving to the Ft. Myers, Fla. area Walter continued his career in land title insurance.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters: Jennifer Donovan of Hilton, N.Y., and Erin (Eric) Donovan of Scappose, Ore.; son, Matthew (Maria) Donovan of Trumansburg, N.Y.; three grandchildren: Kaitlin Tyrrell, Linnea Tyrrell and Amanda Simpson of Hilton, N.Y.; as well as two sisters: Francis (Carl) Pergola of Cumberland, R.I,, and Alice (James) Magby of Hamilton, N.J.; and two stepsons.
At Walter’s request there will be no public services observed. Memorial donations are requested to the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute Foundation, Tampa Fla.
