Louise Williams

Louise Williams, 91, formerly of 11 Cedar Ave., Jamestown, N.Y., died peacefully July 14, 2019, in the Largo Health & Rehabilitation Center in Largo, Fla.

Louise was born Oct. 17, 1927, in New York City, but moved at an early age to Patton, Pa., where she lived until her marriage to John W. ”Jack;; Williams on Nov. 24, 1945.

Jack and Louise settled in Jamestown, N.Y., in 1953, where she lived until moving to Florida in 2012.

She was an avid bowler and was the secretary/ treasurer for several leagues over the years. She was artistically skilled in several hobbies which included photography, ceramics, calligraphy and painting.

She was employed at various times at National Worsted Mills, TJ Clark Box & Label, the Jamestown General Hospital and the Jamestown Holiday Inn.

In later years, she was very happy to be a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ.

Louise is survived by a son, John in Largo, Fla.; a daughter Kathleen (James) Sutherland in Menifee, Calif.; a sister, Carol Gounaris in Dayton, Ohio; and her grandson, Hugh Sutherland, his wife, Cristine and great-grandsons: Zachary and Hunter Sutherland in Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years John ”Jack” Williams, who died Sept. 10, 1994; and by a sister, Roberta who passed away in 2018.

A memorial service will be held for Louise on Sept. 21, 2019, at 2 p.m., at the Jamestown Church of Christ, with a social time directly after the service at the church. All of her friends, loved ones and relatives are certainly invited to attend.
