Lorraine Sylvia Meabon Chapman

A lifelong area resident, she was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Grant and Esther Morrison Meabon.

Lorraine attended Falconer High School and in earlier years was employed by Allen Nursing Home and YWCA.

She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses East Congregation and enjoyed talking to people about the Bible. Lorraine also enjoyed drawing, coloring, singing and dancing.

Surviving are five children: Lorna Laskaris of Orlando, Fla., Phillip S. (Karen) Allen Jr. of Jamestown, Pamela (Tom) Laskowski of Fairview, Pa., Deborah Allen of Falconer and Clovis (Ross) Snyder of Jamestown; 14 grandchildren: Jeffrey Cox, Cynthia Cox Tolman, Chris Allen, Josh Allen, Leslie Allen-Dole, Noah Allen, Richard Kelly Jr., Sarah Lander, Gary Guzzardo, Rachel Phillips, Michael Guzzardo, Cassandra Milliner, Ross Snyder Jr. and Seth Snyder; nine great- grandchildren: Myles Anderson, Mathius Allen, Eden Allen, Carter Dole, Quinn Dole, Emily Lander, Aidan Lander, Keenan Durnell and Marissa Durnell; and two great-great- grandchildren: Rownan and Hudson Recchia.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip S. Allen Sr.; her second husband, Alvin Chapman; two daughters: Sylvia Cox Thelander and Edith Genberg; a sonm David Allen; a granddaughterm Robyn Allen; a son-in-law, James Irving Dearing; two brothers: Freemont and Clair Meabon; and two sisters: Florence Newton and Naomi Allen.

As per Lorraine’s wishes no memorial service or visitation will be observed.
