Inez C. Pangborn

Inez C. Pangborn, 96, formerly of Delaware Avenue, Jamestown passed away Friday (Aug. 16, 2019) in the Lutheran Home.

A lifelong area resident, she was born Feb. 12, 1923, in Leon, N.Y., the daughter of the late Ervin and Katherine O’Neill Smith.

Inez was a 1940 graduate of Randolph High School and prior to retirement was employed by NYS Dept of Labor, retiring in 1987.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, listening to music, playing the organ, crossword puzzles and gardening.

Surviving are three children: Terry C. (Kathleen) Pangborn of Jamestown, Cynthia J. (John) Rogowski of Ashville and Nancy C. (William) Stevenson of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Jeannine (Mark) Picard of Rochester, N.Y., Kristin (Jake) Emley of Frewsburg, Christopher Davis (Jamie Cressley) of Busti, Todd (Brandie) Davis of Busti, Amy Starks (John Sample) of W.E. Jamestown, and Joseph (Heidi) Jeziorski of Kathleen, Ga.; 14 great- grandchildren; and a sister, Colleen Luce of East Randoloph.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester C. Pangborn, whom she married July 22, 1944, in Warren, Pa,, and who died April 2, 2001; three sisters: Dorothy Dole, Ethel Young and Alice Seymour; and a brother, Neil Smith.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, chaplain of the Lutheran Home will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday in the funeral home.
