Gilda M. Nelson
WESTFIELD — Gilda M. Nelson, 90, of Westfield, formerly of Mayville and Sherman, died Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at the Absolut Care of Westfield.
She was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Westfield, the daughter of the late Henry and Wilda Munger Francis.
Gilda had worked in printing and packaging for Belknap Business Forms in Westfield.
She was a member of the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Veterans of Foreign War Post 8647 in Mayville, the William L. Travis American legion Post 493 in Mayville, and the JW Dill Post 434 American Legion in Brocton.
Gilda enjoyed cooking, knitting, flower gardening, her grandchildren, and her daily excursions with her friend, Ron Burgess.
She is survived by her three children; Theresa M. White of Sherman, Cynthia W. Emory of Houston, Texas, and Andrew White of Mayville; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and her special friend; Ron Burgess of Brocton.
Gilda was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Michael White Jr., and her second husband, Claire Nelson.
At Gilda’s request, there will be no services observed.
