Ronald E. Darling

Ronald E. Darling, 86, of Youngsville, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, after a short illness.

Ron was born March 13, 1934, in Youngsville, to the late William and Myrtle (Sullivan) Darling.

He served in the U.S. Air Force overseas in England during the Korean War. He then went on to work at Sylvania in the plastic mold department, retiring from there in 1993.

Ron was a member of the Youngsville American Legion and enjoyed hunting, cutting wood, going for rides in the car and then lunch, and sitting on his porch giving folks the Brown Hill wave. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Luther) Darling, whom he married in 1957, in Grand Valley; a daughter, Cindy (Joe) Saber of Irvine; his siblings: Carolyn (Elmer) Hallberg of Ellery Center, N.Y., William (Patty) Darling of Youngsville and Donald Darling of Clarendon; his grandchildren: Chad (Michelle) Johnson, Katie (Chris) Murphy and Rickel (Chris) Sterns, all of Youngsville; his six great- grandchildren: Cole, Paiden, Collin, Page, Kaeli and Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a son, Rick Darling in 2005; a sister, Myrna Haight; and a brother, Wayne Darling.
