Richard E. “Ricky” White

He was born Nov. 19, 1949, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late George L. Sr. and Thelma Davis White.

Ricky graduated from Jamestown High School in 1968, following high school he served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman during Vietnam Era.

Ricky worked at Cummins Engine and also at Jamestown Public Schools as a bus monitor. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, riding his bike, the casino, bowling, and bingo. He bowled in a league at Fountain Bowl in his earlier years. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Ricky is survived by his son, Damian Taylor of Jamestown, N.Y.; his brother, Al White of Jamestown, N.Y.; his sister, Marcella Keith of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Delaunte Taylor, Alexia Taylor, Damian Taylor, KaMya Taylor, Jayden Taylor-Sisley, Porter Smith-Taylor, Elliana Taylor; two great- grandchildren: Naudia and Gabriella; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, George L. “Joe” White; a sister, Donna A. White; and a stepson, Marion Dewayne Hilson.

Family and friends may call at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home Inc., 316 E, Fifth St., Jamestown, N.Y., on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. The Rev. LeRoy Walker, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
