Patricia J. Wilson Cooper

Patricia was born June 4, 1936, in Marshall, Mich., to Bruce E. Wilson and and Martha J. Armstrong Wilson Davies Blowers.

Growing up in Marshall, Mich., until she was 16, she moved to Celoron, N.Y., in 1953 to live with her father. where she met and married Laverne H. Cooper on Oct. 17, 1954. They were married 46 years prior to his death in October 2000.

Patricia had been a homemaker, raising four children. The employed by Firches Bakery and the Big N. She volunteered at the Ellington Food Pantry, which she enjoyed immensely.

She enjoyed working in her yard, doing crossword puzzles, playing cribbage getting together with her good friends: Maryann, Esther, Ken, Carol and Matt a couple times a week. Time with Patricia was always interesting. She was a spit fire, fun to be around, kept us all on our toes and on occasion, she was called “Judge Judy.” We all loved her and will miss the little call of energy.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ansell (Danny) of Gerry; sons: Steve Cooper of Jamestown, James Cooper (Debbie) of Clarendon, Pa., and Bruce Cooper of Ransonville, N.Y; grandchildren: Charidy Doud (Greg) of Ellington, N.Y., Danny Ansell Jr. (Jamie) of Gerry, N.Y., Steven Cooper Jr. (Heidi) of Panama, N.Y., Jennifer Cooper Morrison of Las Vegas, Nev., David Cooper (Debbie) of Jamestown, N.Y., Danielle Stinebister (Justin) of Wattsburg, Pa., Laverne Cooper of Jamestown, N.Y., Heather Blair and Todd Blair, of Jamestown, N.Y., Pamela Spiesman (Michael) of Hope Mills, N.C., James Cooper (Sarah) of Ohio, Jeffrey Cooper, John Cooper and Bradley Cooper, all of Jamestown, Maci Hartloff of Buffalo, N.Y., Phillip Traver (Cathleen) of Irving, N.Y., and Melissa Birkman (Derek), Amanda Cooper (ChrisI and Jessica Cooper (Brian) of Lockport, N.Y. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousin: Peggy Pierce and Sherri Broen in Marshall, Mich.; and her two cats: Kiki and Joe.

Besides her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Cooper, who died Oct. 23, 2000; a grandson, PFC Charles S. Cooper, who died April 29, 2005, in Baghdad, Iraq; her sister, Valerie Wilson Green; and her half-brother, Charles Davies of Florida.

Patricia donated her body to the University of Buffalo. There will be no service per her request.
