Linda L. Lindstrom

Linda L. Lindstrom, 67, of Frewsburg, N.Y., passed away May 10, 2019, at the Blair House, Warren, Pa.

Linda was born Nov. 22, 1951, in Westfield, to the late Howard and Bernice Kehrli. She married her loving husband, Wayne L. Lindstrom on Jan. 16, 1971, in Busti, and they began their 48 year adventure as husband and wife.

A top graduate of Southwestern Central School, Linda was a member of the 400 club and enjoyed everything academic. Growing up, Linda took pride in the animals that she raised, especially her horses and her dogs. This love of animals continued throughout her life and spilled over to her special dogs, especially her faithful “boys:” Buddie and Brodie.

Linda was a homemaker early on in marriage and served on the PTA at her children’s school. However, her calling to be a nurse pushed her to attend college later on. She excelled and received her registered nursing license in the Jamestown Community College Nursing program, and then went on to the University at Buffalo, where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Linda has worked in practically every facet of nursing, from babies to elderly care and to those with special needs. Throughout her career, she was employed at Jamestown General, Warren General, WCA and The Resource Center, where she retired. Linda was honored to serve as a nurse and loved her work. Her children were always shocked that she was such a wonderful and caring nurse, as they would tell you she was “not so gentle” in removing their slivers!!

Linda was known for her quick wit and quicker tongue, as well as her academics and savvy. She could be found reading for hours and likely has read almost all of the books in Myers Memorial Library. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and especially Wayne in their retirement. Their favorite trips were to Oahu, Hawaii and Florida, where they could escape from the snow in the North.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Wayne Lindstrom; their three children: Michael Lindstrom (Baldwinsville, N.Y.), Ken (Candace) Lindstrom (Statesville, N.C.), and Michelle and Troy Pitts (Frewsburg); seven grandchildren: Jessica ans Eric Lindstrom, Amber and Alyssa Lindstrom and Xander, Elayna and Anelia Pitts; as well as three great-grandchildren: Liam and Arya Lindstrom and Elliana Carter. She is also survived by four brothers: Jim Ford, and Steve, Rick & Kevin Kehrli.

She was predeceased by her parents.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the ASPCA, Myers Memorial Library, Warren Co. Blair House or Chautauqua County Hospice Care.
