Lauriston “Scott” Dean Redick

Lauriston “Scott” Dean Redick, 59, of Lakewood, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019, in his home with his wife, Roxanne by his side, following a courageous battle with Leukemia.

He was born Aug. 9, 1959, in Jamestown, the son of the late Dean and Caryldean Nelson Redick.

Scott was a 1977 graduate of Jamestown High School. He had been employed at Titan X and previously at Mason Carvings Inc.

A talented musician, he learned to play several instruments by ear, and in his younger years played in some local bands. He was a member of the Frewsburg Legion and the Moose. Scott loved animals, fishing, traveling, and hosting cookouts and bon fires in his back yard.

Surviving are his wife Roxanne Hays Redick, whom he married Sept. 1, 1984; his dogs: Borus and Aurora Jean; his cat, Gracie; his twin sister, Lauren Redick of Sebring, Fla.; his father-in-law, Skip Hays of Ellington, N.Y.; a nephew, Robby Pownall of Lakeland, Fla.; three nieces: Sari (Billy) Towell of Citrus County, Fla., Kayla (Bobby) Bright of Dallas, Texas, and Morgan Hays of Jamestown; four great-nieces{ Alana, Chayenne, Alexis, and Savanna and a great- nephew, Jeremiah, all of Florida.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elisa Pownall; his mother-in-law, Patricia J. Hays; and 14 beloved pets, especially his best pal, Abigail.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday May 10, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Phelps, Hospice chaplain will officiate.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Friday in the funeral home.
