Charlene D. Nary Steppe

Charlene D. Nary Steppe, 74, of Falconer, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, surrounded by her loving children, after a courageous battle against cancer with an unyielding faith in Christ.

Born Jan. 23, 1945 in Jamestown a daughter of the late Victor M., Sr. and Beatrice Koser Nary.

Charlene was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed reading, travel, the ocean and loved time with her family.

Wife of 51 years to the late LeRoy G. “Tony” Steppe, whom she married Jan. 26, 1963 and died Dec. 9, 2013; mother of Kelly (Walt) Feldt, Sr. of Ashville; LeRoy G. “Bud” (Melinda) Steppe, Jr. of Warren, Pa.; Amy (Michael) Waterman and Lisa (Ricky) Steppe-Lawson all of Falconer; grandmother of Dustin (Jennifer), Jacob (Ellen), Walter Jr. (Morgan) and Todd (Lisa) Feldt, Laci (Tom) and Hunter (Thomas Hamilton) Lawson, Tyler (Heather Loveless) Steppe, who she had a hand in raising, James Steppe, Katie and Lucas Young; great-grandmother of 21; sister of Lillian McFarren of Sinclairville, and the late Beatrice Roman, Violet, Kathleen, Victor M., Jr., Patrick, James and John Nary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Tuesday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville, with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Burial in Gerry Cemetery. Memorials to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Jamestown, NY 14701.
