Mary Breckenridge Hunt

Mary Breckenridge Hunt, 79, of 53 LaSalle Avenue, Jamestown, NY, died Monday, January 7, 2019, in her home.

A Jamestown resident all of her life, she was born March 25, 1939, a daughter of the late James and Elna Lindgren Breckenridge.

She was a 1957 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Fredonia State Teachers College.

She was a former member of First Congregational Church and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Jamestown.

Mary was a member of several book and garden clubs including JMK Mystery Book Group and former member of the Green Thumb Garden Club. Her other memberships included the Women’s Club of Lakewood, serving as past president, and Norden Women’s Club. She also volunteered at the Lucy-Desi Museum for several years.

She will be remembered for her charismatic personality, award-winning gardens, love of travel, and as an excellent bridge player and instructor, participating in Jamestown Bridge-a-Rama and The Women’s Club of Lakewood Marathon Bridge.

Surviving is her sister Jane (Michael) Eisner of Los Angeles, CA; three nephews: Breck, Eric and Anders Eisner, and nine great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral will be held at noon Saturday in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Friends will be received at the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club following the service Saturday.
