Dianne Mary (Foss) Minton

RANDOLH — Dianne Mary (Foss) Minton, 83, of Washington Street, Randolph, formerly of Hamburg and East Aurora, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2019) at home, after a brief illness.

A lifelong area resident of Western New York, Mrs. Minton was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Harlow and Lucille Schnur Foss

Prior to her retirement in 1996, Mrs. Minton was the court clerk for the New York State Supreme Court in Buffalo and earlier on had worked for New York State Electric & Gas in Lancaster, N.Y.

Dianne was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Randolph. She enjoyed collecting antiques and collectibles. She loved traveling and while her grand- daughter, Hope Ruth was a student at Randolph Central School, Dianne and Don would attend all of her sporting events.

She is survived by husband of 63 years, Donald A. Minton, whom she married on Oct. 1, 1955, in the Immaculate Conception Church in East Aurora; a son, David Minton of East Randolph; two daughters: Cheryl A. “Maggie” Ruth and husband, Brian of Randolph and Jill Abla of Bluffton, S.C.; and a sister, Harlene Barton and husband, Paul of Williamsburg, Va. Dianne is additionally survived by four grandchildren: Amy Rose Bierley and husband, Ryan of Rochester, Scott Abla and wife, Jenny of North Carolina, Joseph Minton of Austin, Texas, and Hope (Jeramy Cobo) Ruth of Randolph; great-grand- daughter, Ava Milan Bierley; nieces: Heather Barton Villagrana and husband, Marco and Kate Barton Mitchell and husband, Jason; and a former daughter- in-law, Karen Skinner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlow and Lucille; and a grandson, Jonathan Abla.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (Jan. 12, 2019) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, from where services will follow at noon. The Rev. Joseph Janaczek will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Randolph.
