Pearl I. Rhodes Cargill

LAKEWOOD –Pearl I. Rhodes Cargill, 69, of Brookdale, Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, formerly of Route 242, East Randolph, passed away Sunday (Dec 2, 2018) at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa.

She was born Jan. 9, 1949, in Olean, N.Y., the daughter of the late Cleone Leslie and Mille Rose (Remington) Rhodes.

Pearl attended Allegany High School, was a home maker and retired from Truck-Lite in Falconer. In years prior, she had worked as a waitress at the former Lucy’s Restaurant in Randolph.

She survived by four daughters: Jody (Joe) Ekstrom of Jamestown, W.E., Rhonda (Jeff) Buck of Kennedy, Tammy (John) Zeth of Randolph and Terri (Kevin) O’Neill of Kennedy; nine grandchildren: Dustin, Dylan and Danielle Purdy, Chelsea Hutchings, Kyle Cargill, Nick Blood, Kaylee Zeth and Kaleb and Kayden O’Neill; and three great-grandchildren: Ausdynn Purdy, Jayce Wadsworth and Payton Blood.

She is additionally survived by siblings: Dale Rhodes and his late wife, Irma of Obi, N.Y., the late Wayne Rhodes and wife, Mary of Allegany, Shirley Boser and the late Ron of Bradford, Pa., Merle Rhodes and his late wife, Suzann of Elwood City, Pa., Wanda Wilson and husband, Lester of Youngstown, Pa., and Bill Rhodes and wife, Dee of Bradford, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronald James Cargill, whom she married on Sept, 1, 1967, in Salamanca, and who preceded her on July 28, 2012. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 p.m., Thursday (Dec. 6, 2018) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, from where funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday. Jennifer Delahoy, pastor of the Kennedy United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Steamburg Cemetery.
