Ian Prosser

Ian Prosser, 81, was called home to God on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Tanglewood Manor, Memory Garden, Jamestown, N.Y.

Ian was the kind, loving “Rain Man” in his only surviving sibling’s life, Muriel Bramble. Muriel promised their mother 20 years ago she would always take care of Ian since he was a special needs child. Sometimes his life was lonley when others would reject his friendly approach. He was a very social man and always tried to make new friends.

Ian would want everyone to know how important it is to engage in a conversation, do something kind, for a special needs individual. We all know at least one.

Ian was cheated out of a great deal in life — things we take for granted such as reading, writing and driving a car. He never complained about anything. All who did allow him into their lives were truly blessed.

He had a great sense of humor and a great capacity to love unconditionally. He loved playing Bingo and was always ready to go. He missed his mother, Martha Prosser, and brother, Frank Prosser, tremendously. But he knew he was soon going to be joining them in Heaven, telling an individual at Tanglewood Manor only hours before he passed. Goodbye for now, Ian.

I will join you, mother, Frank and our other siblings, Bill, Malcolm and Jane Anne, soon in our forever home with God. Your loving sister, Muriel.

No visiting hours will be held. A private graveside service will be held at a future date. If you wish to do something for Ian, be loving and kind to that special needs person you encounter in your life. You will both be blessed. Babbitt and Easton Funeral Home in Franklinville, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements.

Ian was buried in Machias Cemetery between his mother and brother, Frank.

He is survived by his sister, Muriel Bramble; nieces and nephews including Julie (Mike) Juliano, Debra (Bill) Lafayette, Bill (Grace) Prosser, Bradley Allen and Brenda (Grant) Randall.
