John A. Nary

John A. Nary, 81, stepped over into God’s Kingdom on July 28, 2018. He was the son of Victor and Beatrice Nary and born in Ohio on June 25, 1937.

He was a faithful servant of Jesus. He loved people, loved studying the Bible and was a great prayer warrior. He won many people for Jesus.

He attended the Revival Center for many years where he wrote many songs. He received a lot of his teaching from his pastor RJ Gibbons, before getting his own church, “The Holy High Chapel.”

He was a legend of country music, which he had his own band, The Country Travelers.

Before going into the ministry, he worked at Jamestown Electric Plating on Water Street.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, whom he married Dec. 27, 1980; four daughters: Michelle (Jim) Pitts, Vicky (Joe) Gratton, Rhonda (Dave) Belles and Tammy (Bill) Kimmel; two sisters: Charlene Steppe and Lillian McFarren; and many living grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Patrick, Victor Jr. and Richard Nary; two sisters: Beatrice Roman and Katherine Nary; and two grandchildren: Kaliegha and Michael Kimmel.

He will be very missed by his wife, friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
