Betty K. Geist

A native of Kittanning, Pa., she was born Jan. 28, 1955, a daughter of June Mary Doverspike Geist and the late James D. Geist.

She was a 1973 graduate of Jamestown High School.

She was employed by the former WCA Hospital for 33 years in housekeeping department.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, making cards, camping and collecting angels. She always had a smile, “with those big dimples” and thought of others first. She was kind-hearted and would often send cards, flowers and baskets to those hurting or just needing a pick-me-up. She enjoyed making meals and planning special occasions for the residents where she lived at Carlson B Towers.

Surviving besides her mother of Jamestown are five sisters: Darlene Geist of Jamestown, Nancy (George) Adams of Bemus Point, Patricia (George) Fleming, Connie (Chip) Myers and Lisa Geist, all of Jamestown; and a brother, Jim Geist of Jamestown. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews who were her pride and joy: Matthew (Courtney) Snyder, April Snyder, Dale (Emma) Fleming, Chris (Nicole) Fleming, Nichole (Arthur) Kuyumjian, Jami (Richy) Smith, Ashley (Martin) Knoll, Brittany (Tom) Kistler and Joshua Geist; several great-nieces and nephews; and her fiance, Jerry Munday.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Snyder.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Dayle Keefer will officiate.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m.,Tuesday and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the funeral home.
