Jerald L. “Jerry” Teed

Jerald L. “Jerry” Teed, 66, of Hare Creek Road, Corry, Pa., died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, N.Y., from injuries sustained while riding his motorcycle in the town of Hanover, N.Y.

He was born May 2, 1952, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Carlton L. Teed Jr. and Clela M. “Cleo” Watson Wickwire.

Jerry was a 1971 graduate of Clymer Central School, Clymer, N.Y. As a teenager, he worked on his uncle’s farm in Sherman, N.Y. Following high school he entered the U.S. Marines, receiving an honorable discharge. Later, Jerry worked at GE, Dowell Chemical and then at Erie County Plastics (Erie Plastics) for over 25 years. He also worked for Corry Manufacturing, VIP Machine, Peek n Peak and the Corry Auto Auction.

He was a very safety conscience person, he loved those people in his life in his own personal way. Jerry was knowledgeable in social science and loved history and could talk about many historical events. He liked good humor, loved traveling to other states and areas in New York and Pennsylvania. He was a neat and organized person.

Jerry was a very private person, not many realized that he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal while in the Marines, a certificate of Appreciation from Dowell Chemical as well as many other certificates of skill he received over his work career. Most of all, Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his stepfather, Morris “Ike” Wickwire.

Jerry is survived by his stepmother, Kathryn Silvis Teed of Clymer, N.Y.; six sisters: Carla Pifer and her husband, Calvin “Butch” of North East, Pa., Karen Richard and her husband. Terry of Clymer, N.Y., Wendy Wickwire of Phoenix, Ariz., Toni Johnson of Corry, Pa, Barbara Proper and her husband, John of Corry, Pa., and Patricia Curtis and her husband, Michael of Akron, Ohio; and three brothers: David Wickwire of Bradford, Pa., Gary Teed and his wife, Christine of Panama, N.Y., and Dennis Teed of Clymer, N.Y. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Tuesday from 3 p.m., until the time of the memorial service there at 4 p.m.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg, Pa., at a later date.
