Nancy K. Swanson

A Jamestown resident all of her life, she was born Dec. 16, 1933, a daughter of the late Harold and Martha Carlson Kling.

She was a 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School.

Throughout her working career she had been employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance, YWCA, Ames Department Store and RSVP.

She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church. She met with two groups of ladies who have been friends since high school. They called themselves the Golden Girls and The Club Girls.

Nancy was a very gentle, kind soul and an amazing mother. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are four children: Shelley (David) Sandquist of Falconer, Susan Swanson of Jamestown, Dr. Jeffrey (Linda) Swanson of Erie, and Timothy (Janice) Swanson of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Alexis (David Kozyk) Swanson, Matthew Sandquist, Krista Sandquist, Michael (Lindsey Carlson) Sandquist and Jenna (Michael Sacilowski) Swanson; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Sacilowski; and a sister, Sandra Dinger of Erie.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Swanson, whom she married Dec. 31, 1952, and who died June 3, 2017.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Chapel of First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Nagle will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday in the church.
