Carolyn J. Kingsbury
RANDOLPH — Carolyn J. Kingsbury, 89, formerly of Route 83 Cherry Creek and Main Street, Randolph, passed away Sunday (April 1, 2018) at the Heritage Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Jamestown.
She was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Jamestown the daughter of the late Karl Henning and Lucy Fern (Shaw) Gustafson.
She attended Celoron High School and Jamestown Community College. In addition to being a home maker, she retired from the JN Adams Developmental Services in Franklinville after 28 years of service, where she was the director of operations. She had also worked at the Olean Campus earlier on in her career.
She currently attended the Randolph First Baptist Church and had been a longtime member of the Cherry Creek Assembly of God Church. Carolyn was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene (Dennis) Fisher of Randolph; three sons, Ken (Jackie) Kingsbury of Youngsville, Pa., Douglas (Pam) Kingsbury of Sugar Grove, Pa., John (Wendy) Kingsbury of Cumming, Ga.; two sisters, Georgia Riley of Indiana and Lucy Arnone of Jamestown; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orvis M. Kingsbury, whom she married on June 15, 1945, and who preceded her on March 29, 1994; infant daughter, Linda Kingsbury; a son, Jeffrey Kingsbury on Feb. 10, 2012; a daughter, Madelyn Crawford on May 28, 2014; a grandson, Adam Crawford; a sister, Elizabeth Bailey; and a brother; Karl Gustafson.
The family will receive family and friends from 4-7 Wednesday (April 4, 2018) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph from where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rutledge Cemetery in Conewango. The Rev. Kenneth Pratt and Rev. Douglas Travis will officiate.
