James A. “Jim” Rock
James A. “Jim” Rock, 74, of Bemus Point, passed away, Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at home, surrounded by family.
He was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Charleston, W.Va., a son of the late William and Virginia Newhouse Rock. He was a graduate of Kenova High School, Kenova, W.Va.
Jim retired from Monofrax/Carborundum, Falconer, after 35 years in the saw and grind department.
He enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.
Husband of 42 years to Jean D. McKillip Rock, whom he married Nov. 2, 1975; father of Sandy Haley of Jamestown, Terry Rock of Pittsburgh, Christopher Rock of Falconer and the late James E. Rock, (Jan. 1, 1916) and Steven Michael Rock, (July 4, 1916). Jim is also survived by grandchildren, a greatgrandson, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 11a.m., Monday in the Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville, where visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Burial in Cassadaga Cemetery.
