Jack C. Nelson Jr.

Jack C. Nelson Jr., 55, of Wright St., Corry, Pa., passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., surrounded by his family.

He was born March 22, 1962, in Erie, Pa., son of Jack C. Nelson Sr. of French Creek, N.Y., and Lucille S. Olszewski Nelson of Corry, Pa.

Jack was raised in Findley Lake, N.Y., where he participated in baseball, track and Boy Scouts of America. He was educated in Clymer, N.Y., he graduated from Clymer Central School in 1980. Jack was employed with Larix, Inc. (formerly Thompson Maple Products) for over 30 years. He started with Thompson Maple Products part-time doing maintenance. Throughout the years, his hard work and determination are what led him to becoming the Plant Manager.

Jack was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed listening to music, riding 4-wheelers and snowmobiling. On weekends, you would most likely find him working in his yard or grilling on his back deck. Camping and beach vacations with his family are what brought him the most joy. Jack surely stood out from others with his energetic way of life, and his enjoyment for making people laugh. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend. Jack treasured every minute he spent with family and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Susan Olszewski and paternal grandparents, Lawrence Nelson and Elizabeth Montgomery; and a sister, Kathy Nelson.

In addition to his parents, Jack is survived by a daughter, Nicole Nelson of Finleyville, Pa.; a sister, Charlotte Rynders and her husband, Erik of Corry, Pa.; four brothers, Gary Nelson and his wife, Susan of Sherman, N.Y., Ronald Nelson and his wife, Barbara of Swannanoa, N.C., Bill Nelson and his wife, Terri of Corry, Pa., and Craig Nelson and his wife, Lisa of Macungie, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
