JAMESTOWN — Elizabeth “Betty” M. Burrows Stoeltzing, 92, of Jamestown, formerly of Lakewood and Mayville, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Lutheran Social Services, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 31, 1925, in Westfield, N.Y., the daughter of the late Carl and Elsie Schrader Burrows.

Betty had been a bank teller for First National Bank in Lakewood.

She was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and former member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church.

Betty enjoyed bowling, which she did up until her mid 80s, reading, her dogs, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Steven (Kristen) Stoeltzing of Jamestown; a daughter, Susan (Bill) Johnson of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Jeanna (Brian) Johnson and Megan (Steven) Johnson of Sarasota, Fla.,, and Daniel and Kaylea Stoeltzing of Carrboro, S.C.; three great-grandchildren: Nathan and Kelsey Johnson and Isabella Pulcinella, all of Sarasota, Fla.; one half-sister, Betty Brinton; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband; Merle Stoelzing, whom she married March 17, 1951 in Westfield, N.Y.; one son, Roy “Chipper” William Stoeltzing; a close cousin, Peggy Schrader Olofsson; and a close friend, Allen Keith.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St., Mayville). The Rev. Daniel Rumfelt will officiate. Burial will be in Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov 3, and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday (10-11a.m.) at the funeral home.
