Lawrence M. D’Arcy, 60, beloved husband to Mary E. D’Arcy of Amherst, N.Y., and Bemus Point, N.Y., died of a sudden heart attack on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017. Larry was the father of Shannon N. Jazinski of Buffalo, N.Y., Sean P. D’Arcy of Manhatten, N.Y., Brandon M. D’Arcy and Meegan M. D’Arcy, both of Amherst, N.Y.
Larry coached high school football for 20 years at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, N.Y. He played football and crew at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., and was a starting defensive tackle at the University of Buffalo. He attended grammar school at the former Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Jamestown, N.Y.
Larry is survived by two brothers and three sisters: Sean F. D’Arcy of Manhatten, N.Y., Michael P. D’Arcy of Saratoga, Springs, N.Y., Catherine M. Heeb of Canandaigua, N.Y., Maureen A. Brown of East Amherst, N.Y., and Colleen B. Ludwig of South Lockport, N.Y. Larry is also survived by his mother, Mary L. D’Arcy of Williamsville, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laurence L. D’Arcy, who died in 2002.
Larry worked as an independent contractor.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, 6919 Transit Road, Swormville, N.Y. Friends will be receive from 3-8 p.m., Friday at the Lombardo Funeral Home, 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst, N.Y.
