Marcia Kay Ramsay (nee Tranquist)

Marcia Kay Ramsay (nee Tranquist) of Wellington, Fla., passed away peacefully on July 18, 2017, after several months of courageously battling multiple illnesses.

Marcia was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Jamestown, N.Y. She was lovingly cared for, until the end of her beautiful life, by the many family and friends who held her as a treasured blessing. Marcia was especially adored by her beloved husband, Earl, who was her valiant companion, spending countless, long hours by her side until her final passing to become his Angel — now caring for him from Heaven.

She leaves behind many cherished family members including her daughters: Kerry Cotler and Jamie Saullo; and son, Michael Luce. She also was blessed to have enjoyed grandchildren: Alexander, Christian, Natalie, James, Lindsay and John; as well as five great- grandchildren.

“Mom” to many, she will be remembered most for her fun-loving spirit, honesty and her particular love for her animals. She nurtured and loved her precious cats every day of her life.

She was a proud descendent of Swedish ancestry who had a work ethic beyond compare. She was best known in Jamestown for being a co-owner of The Lorraine School of Dancing. She later spent decades helping grow her daughter, Kerry, grow her company and tremendously enjoyed all the success she helped produce.

May you rest in peace our Sleepy Lion, knowing that not one of us would ever be what we are today if you had not been in our lives.
