Alice A. Dickinson

Alice A. Dickinson, 99, of Sinclairville, formerly of Gasport, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Lutheran Retirement Home, Jamestown.

Born July 25, 1917, in Frewsburg, the daughter of the late Oscar F. and Anna Bjork Anderson. She was a 1934 graduate of Frewsburg High School, 1936 graduate of Jamestown Business College and was a 1940 graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

Alice was employed as an RN at WCA Hospital in the nursery, New York State Public Health nurse in Niagara County, nursery nurse at Lockport Hospital, weekends at Hilltop Nursing Home in Gasport and was a School Nurse-Teacher at Royalton Hartland Elementary Schools from 1959-1974.

She was a long time member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Gasport.

Wife of 47 years to the late Roswell Dickinson whom she married Oct 26, 1946, and who died June 17, 1993; mother of Roslin (William) Newton of Sinclairville; grandmother of Rochelle (Patrick) Hulton of Arcade; great grandmother of Tricia and Trevor Hulton; sister of the late Pauline Mahoney. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

A special “Thank You” to the staff of the Nursing Unit B-1 at the Lutheran Home for the wonderful care Alice received.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Christ Chapel, Lutheran Home, 715 Falconer St., Jamestown. Private burial in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery.
