Elsie M. Anderson

Elsie M. Anderson, 80, of Covenant Village, Northbrook, Ill., went to be with her Lord on Jan. 28, 2017. Elsie was born on Nov. 8, 1935, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Ernest and Esther Anderson.

Elsie was a graduate of Jamestown High School and North Park College. She began her career at Banker’s Trust Company in Jamestown where she eventually became Vice President of the Bank’s Trust Department. After moving to Chicago, she worked in the Trust Department of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Upon retiring, she moved to Venice, Fla., for several years before returning to live at Covenant Village of Northbrook. Elsie loved music and was a member of First Covenant Church in Jamestown where she was also the organist for several years. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ as well as attending concerts of classical and sacred music. She was a member of the Winnetka Covenant Church in her later years. Her strong Christian faith and her kind gracious spirit were qualities by which she was known to many. Elsie was greatly loved by her family and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her brother, Harold (the late Elsie) Anderson of Southern Pines, N.C., and her sister, Middy (Don) Crellin of Rochester, Minn., as well as many nieces and nephews.
