Anthony F. “Tony” Prinzi Jr.

Anthony F. “Tony” Prinzi Jr., 64, of 349 Howard Ave. WE, passed away unexpectedly at 12:57 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA.

A lifelong area resident, he was born Feb. 9, 1952, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of Mary Cappa Prinzi and the late Anthony F. Prinzi, Sr.

He was a 1970 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College in 1974.

Before his recent retire-ment, he was the assistant executive director of labor management at The Resource Center for several years. In earlier years, he had worked for the Jamestown Labor Management Committee, the former Falconer Glass Industries, Dahlstrom Manufacturing and Crawford Furniture.

He was a communicant of St. James Roman Cathol-ic Church and a member of the Society of Human Resource Management. He was also involved in many local organizations over the years.

He will be remembered as a loving and caring father who took great pride in his sons and grandsons many accomplishments in the classroom or on the athletic field. He was also known for being extremely fair in negotiations with employees during labor management issues. He also loved being around friends and family and always had a smile.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Cappa Prinzi of Jamestown; two sons: Michael (Tiffany) Prinzi and Christopher Prinzi, both of Buffalo; two grand-sons: Colton Prinzi and Dominic Prinzi; a brother, Samuel (Christine) Prinzi of Jamestown; his fiance, Rebecca Waite; and the mother of his children, Rose S. Prinzi of Lake-wood, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony F. Prinzi Sr., who died June 21, 1997.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Entombment will be the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Fun-eral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
