John D. “Jack” McClellan

John D. “Jack” McClellan, 76, formerly of Stow, N.Y., died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, in the home of his daughter in Madison, Ohio.

He was born July 21, 1940, in Warren, Ohio, a son of the late Orville and Evelyn (Fulton) McClellan.

He was employed by Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities as a job placement specialist. He retired in 2002.

Jack was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He was a member of NRA, Rod and Gun Club, The Fish Club, The American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Back in the day, he was a member of the Ohio National Guard, where he was captain of the rifle team.

Surviving are three children: Coleen (Doug Setler) Moskowitz of Madison, Ohio; twin sons: Brian McClellan of Stow, N.Y., and Kevin (Marianne) McClellan of Jamestown; two grandchildren: Hannah and Haley Moskowitz, both of Madison, Ohio; two step-grandsons: Louis and Anthony Landy, both of Jamestown, his sister, Maureen Davidson; and his brother, Terry McClellan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Brice Cumiskey, whom he married Aug. 5, 1967, and who died Nov. 27, 2012; and a son, Michael McClellan in 2008. His brother, David McClellan also died in 2011.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
